Anyway, back to the Xela-D Maria shoulder bag. It certainly doesn’t look like Amanda Seyfried’s handbag, but its fun vibe, summery colors and its lone flower appliqué are what reminded me of it. The Xela-D Maria’s cute, playful and almost childish design is also in no way as chic and a stylish as Amanda Seyfried’s bag, but there’s a very good reason for it that lies beyond aesthetics.
Eeach Xela-D bag is laboriously made by hand and for every bag purchased, a portion of the proceeds is donated to OPNICER Colombia, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and their families who are suffering from cancer.
The Xela-D Maria is not exactly cheap at nearly $100, but with the good intentions behind it – you know that buying it goes beyond just purchasing and consuming.
Here’s something else to put things in perspective: Amanda Seyfried’s bag is the Valentino ‘Summer Flowers’ tote and its current retail value is $2,690.00.
