Occasionally, a bag fanatic hits a dead end. There are days when you simply cannot find anything interesting, fresh, or exciting enough to merit your attention (and hard earned bucks) – days when even the newest purse on the shelf seems old, too familiar, or boring.
In case you’ve been feeling that way today, allow us to change the moment with this one-of-a-kind find from Nordstrom – the ‘Mercado Filipina’ market tote from Rafé New York, a Filipino designer based in the US. The bag comes in three sublime variants and we’re crushing on all of it big time:
Rafé New York ‘Mercado Filipina’ Market Tote in Natural/White, $125
Rafé New York ‘Mercado Filipina’ Market Tote in Natural/Turquoise, $125
Rafé New York ‘Mercado Filipina’ Market Tote in Natural/Coral, $125
Aren’t these bags super chic?
It’s ironic because when we saw these purses, we immediately thought of summer in Paris or the Côte d’Azur. Yet as you look closer, you will realize the bags are actually inspired from Filipino rice sacks – certainly not French related, but we still love how novel and original they look. Can you say you’re a fan as well? Which color would you go for?
Our vote goes to the Natural/White variant. The darker pattern and more elaborate design looks spot-on. And it’s the kind of combination that will work with almost any outfit. In fact, it would make the perfect spring or summer tote if you’re in the market for a new one. And mind you, grabbing it won’t cost you much either – just an attainable $125, which isn’t bad at all.
