If you’re one of the ladies wishing you had lots of moolah to spend on a much-coveted Lulu Guinness embellished lips clutch (just like Rebecca Romijn’s handbag) but obviously cannot afford one, don’t feel so bad.

You can actually grab the look with some DIY magic (and maybe some patience to go with that). So how about it? How about we get crafty today?

KISS! KISS! KISS!

Here are the things you’ll need:

1. A plain red lips clutch

A good recommendation for this little project would be this new purse from ALDO that’s within pocket’s reach. It also has that patent finish, which will look perfect with crystals. You can find this one at Zappos:

2. A bunch of red hotfix crystals

Pick red crystal or rhinestones that you can easily glue onto the clutch. A good deal to try would be this package containing 10 gross (a total of 1,440 rhinestones) from ThreadsRUs on Amazon.

If you want more brilliant looking stones, try Swarovski crystals. However, bear in mind that they are much more expensive:

3. Hotfix Applicator

This tool will make putting those stones a lot easier compared to just using your fingers. You can find hotfix applicators in arts and crafts stores.

4. Lots of patience and hard work

It’s no secret. There’s always a trade-off. If you want that crystal-embellished lips clutch for a LOT less, you have to work for it.

Don’t worry though. The feeling of accomplishment you’ll get once you finish the project will be priceless. So are you ready to get crafty?!
