How is the weather on your end?
If flowers are in bloom, then springtime has definitely arrived in your corner of the world. But if you’re going through what we’d like to call in-between seasons, then we completely understand if you’re having trouble deciding what to wear. After all, the weather can get confusing.
Of course, the key is to simply layer. As to what or which pieces to layer, well, here are 11 looks to give you some ideas — courtesy of the 11 bloggers we’re featuring for the month of March. Some of the outfits here are more spring-appropriate than others, but all of them are generally lookbook-worthy.
1. Nanda Polly Schwarz from Germany
If rocker-boho is the kind of look you go for, then take a cue from Nanda Schwarz and pair your ripped jeans, t-shirt, and denim jacket with a colorful embroidered clutch. The purse will give your look an exotic twist that is unlike any other.
Nanda is an 18-year-old fashionista from Germany who reminds us a lot of the Olsen twins. Her gorgeous Gypsy 05 “Goa” purse comes with a detachable crossbody strap. You can purchase the bag here. For more super cool outfit inspirations, simply visit Nanda’s blog.
2. Meri Wild from Poland
If you want to showcase your legs, learn from Meri Wild, a Polish freelance photographer, graphic designer, and blogger. Slip into a chambray mini dress, and top it with a beige jacket to keep warm. Don’t forget the accessories — hi-top sneakers, a hat, and, of course, a standout purse to pull everything together.
3. Sabrina Tassini from Italy
Fancy lilac and pink? Then, check out this boy-meets-girl outfit put together by Sabrina Tassini. The 23-year-old blogger of Patchwork Porter color-coordinated this look oh-so perfectly — even the background matches the ensemble!
Sabrina works as a communications and social media specialist and blogs full time. Here, she uses a lovely Fossil “Erin” Satchel ($218) as one of her standout accessories.
4. Margarita Muradova from Ukraine
One great layered look to try when you’re just a tad lazy to dress up is this combo worn by fashion blogger and editor Margarita Muradova of Green Tea on Sugar. It’s simple yet so chic. Wear your classic white button-down with a short skirt, and top it off with a denim jacket. Finally, cap off the mix with standout leopard-print booties and an equally striking red purse. Voilà!
5. Len K. from Tokyo, Japan
Whether you’re dressing in-between seasons or simply trying to get through a rainy day in style, take a cue from Len of Fetish Tokyo and layer on those textured separates. Stick to a monochromatic palette to keep your overall look elegant. Then, add a dash of surprise, such as a bold animal-print clutch, for the perfect finish.
Len styled her look based on her umbrella. Her clutch is from Burberry Prorsum. This Japanese blogger has a closet full of enviable designer items.
6. Sammy C. from United Kingdom
If you’re already basking in the sun (lucky you), then this look from Sammy of My Lady Boudoir will be the perfect one to try. Pick a statement tee that comes with a striking print, and wear it with a pair of tailored high-waist shorts. To make your getup more interesting, cap off the combo with platform sandals and a colorful patterned backpack.
Sammy is a fashion and beauty blogger who loves photography and traveling. She has been blogging since 2011, and she will be getting married this April. Congratulations, Sammy!
7. Frances Estrada from Puerto Rico (based in Los Angeles, California)
If you want to stay ahead of the game, look to Frances Estrada for outfit ideas. This blogger lives and breathes fashion — and you can tell from the multitude of fantastic outfits posted on her website, The Pecking Order of Style.
You could say she’s a guru at mixing and matching. She uses both trendy and classic pieces to come up with striking outfits. Here, she sports a couple of spring’s top stories — the midi skirt and the crop top — and wears them with flair by pairing them with striking extras — like cat-eye sunnies, a quirky hat, and a bright orange Louis Vuitton bag.
Frances is currently a student at FIDM in Los Angeles. She also works as a personal and editorial stylist.
8. Violetta Privalova from Ukraine
If you like it a little sporty, steal Violetta’s style here. Grab your platform sneakers, and wear them with skinny jeans and a patterned coat. Don’t forget to cap off the look with look-at-me extras, such as a bright pink satchel and a matching beanie. It’s pretty easy to put together and certainly easier to pull off.
Sammy is a freelance graphic artist and blogger from Ukraine. Visit her blog, VS Style, for more outfit ideas like this one.
9. Tomi Sway from California (based in Seoul, Korea)
Take layering to a whole new level by wearing not just two or three colors, but five! Can you do that?
Here’s a look from Tomi Sway of Tomi:Mito. It’s not for the faint of heart. But if you can pull it off, then mad props to you. Here, she carefully pairs multiple brights with classic black and white and gets away with it. We love the mix. How about you?
Tomi:Mito is an online magazine based in California and Seoul. It is managed by Tomi and her partner, Mito. Tomi’s bright green bag is from the Korean label PartspARTs. It is made of environment-friendly neoprene material.
10. Malena Permentier from the Netherlands (based in Australia)
We couldn’t help but include Malena on our list of bloggers for March. The way her ombre sweater blended with the color and texture of her fabric-trimmed 3.1 Phillip Lim mini bag was fascinating. What a pretty pairing! Do you agree? She finished her outfit with strappy sandals, but we think boots will look great with the combo, too.
Malena is a 23-year-old law graduate from the Netherlands who moved to Perth in 2012 to be with her boyfriend. You can check out her blog, Fashion Container, for more outfit ideas.
11. Miha J. from Romania
This outfit is not exactly layered but still mid-season-appropriate. It gives a look that is easy, effortless, and laid-back. If you want to work your classic heather gray maxi during this time of the year, take notes from Miha of Miha Skinny Buddha and keep things interesting by opting for bright orange extras, some really cool sunnies, and a pair of chucks to keep your feet warm. Wear a leather jacket, and you’re all set!
